Registrations for the Mapletree-TENG Academy Scholarship are now open

A holistic programme that develops young talents age 21 and below who demonstrate a passion for Chinese music

The TENG Company (“TENG”) is pleased to announce the opening of the Mapletree-TENG Academy Scholarship applications, the only Chinese instrumental music scholarship in Singapore. Founded by TENG with support from Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree”), the scholarship supports youths from disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to hone their skills in Chinese instrumental music.

The Mapletree-TENG Academy Scholarship provides a holistic programme that develops young talents age 21 and below who demonstrate a passion for Chinese music through robust one-to-one training classes, mentorships and performance opportunities. The scholarship covers various financial aspects of the youth’s musical development, such as their instrumental lesson fees, course materials, and grading examination fees. In 2020, there are five scholarships on offer, an increase from 2019’s initial four, with each tenable for two years.

Applications for the Mapletree-TENG Academy Scholarship opens on 6 January 2020and will close on 21 February 2020. Prospective candidates will be shortlisted for an audition and interview by 11 March 2020.
